Summer is here, and with it usually comes an itch to travel. If you're eager to embrace your wanderlust but unsure where to go, we can help. We've compiled a list of four exotic travel locations to curb your travel hunger. Start packing—we've got you covered.

Alaska

Whoever said you have to travel abroad to experience an exotic destination clearly never visited Alaska. The state offers some of the most beautiful landscapes and wildlife north of the equator. Take a tour through the stunning wilderness and experience the near-perfect fishing that the state offers. Take a dip in one of the state's many hot springs or go crabbing in the Bering Sea. Alaska is also home to breathtaking hikes and a fascinating, diverse culture. Don't forget to pack your sunglasses and take extra lenses, because despite its northern latitude, Alaska is surprisingly bright and sunny during the summer season.

Costa Rica

Tropical sandy beaches, wonders of nature and a rich, enchanting history—Costa Rica has it all. Visitors can enjoy the Corcovado National Park, 11,000 acres of dewy rainforest, or take a trip to see one of the world's most active volcanoes. Take a walk on the wild side and raft down one of Costa Rica's raging rivers, or play it cool and stroll along the Nicoya Peninsula's 80-mile shoreline, which is filled with shops and restaurants. Go back in time and take a trip to the City of Cartago or Guayabo National Park.

Belize

Snorkel and dive with exotic creatures of the deep; walk the ruins of the ancient Mayans; adventure into mysterious caves, or simply spend the day lounging around or playing on the beach. With daily flights leaving North America for this exotic destination, traveling to this oasis is even easier than you ever dreamed. Indulge in the scrumptious local food while mingling with friendly locals. One part Central American jungle and the other half Caribbean paradise, there is certainly no shortage of fun and adventure in Belize.

New Zealand

From sparkling beaches, bustling cities, natural splendors to tracking the constellations, New Zealand is the perfect adventure destination. Take a zip line tour, dare to bungy jump or go spelunking. Head for the coastline and rent a kayak or paddle board, take a boat tour or sign up for your very first surfing lesson. Visit one of the many national parks and hike through the local scenery. New Zealand is also home to world-renowned museums and restaurants. Learn about New Zealand's indigenous culture and sign up for a ritual Maori celebration, or visit some of the world famous "rock art" left behind by native tribes thousands of years ago.
