With the Holidays right around the corner you might be wondering where to even begin. It takes a lot of preparation time and stress to get the house looking great for friends and family to arrive. Here is a helpful guide to everything holiday in the area - from where to buy your trees to specialty decorations presented by LaValley Building Supply. We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season. 

Choose and Cut Your Own Tree

Nichols Christmas Trees and Wreaths - Lyme, NH

Open the weekend before Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily each year. Choose and cut your own Christmas tree or choose from the selection of freshly cut trees. Selection includes Balsam Fir, Fraser Fir, and some White Spruce. Prices range from $15 to $60 depending on size. Trees go up to 15 feet tall.

"We also offer our beautiful, handmade Christmas wreaths~ plain & decorated in a variety of sizes; garland, kissing balls greenery, centerpieces, and a variety of other decorations," according to the website. Be sure to also check out the specialty maple syrups for sale.


Balsam Ridge Tree Farm - Canaan, NH

Bring the whole family along to experience the tradition of journeying through the fields of Balsam Firs, Frasier Firs, Concolor Firs, White Pines, Red Pines, Scotch Pines, Colorado Blue Spruces, and a limited selection of exotic evergreens.

"We also offer small potted evergreens for those with limited space, or for use in a landscape. Be sure to visit our landscape ideas page for tips on using potted evergreens to turn your yard into a beautiful landscape, create a privacy hedge, or provide necessary protection for songbirds," according to the website.

Each tree at Balsam Ridge is hand-pruned to produce a natural shape, with strong branches, highly oriented toward holiday decorations. The evergreens make a fine natural, privacy fence, adding beauty and value to your property.

Open the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas, weekdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and weekends, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are plenty of decorations to choose from for the holidays from wreaths and trees to ornaments and cuckoo clocks. Wreaths come in any size up to 80 inches either plain or decorated. Frasier and Balsam trees go as high as 25 feet. Trees can be shipped anywhere in the continental US that are 8 feet or shorter.

A family run business serving the Upper Valley since 1971, they stock a full line of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, vegetables, herbs and houseplants as well as all the supplies to plant them right - even bulk mulch, soils, and an extensive stone yard. The nursery center is open year round and offers a complete Christmas shop featuring trees, wreaths, and garland.

Makes holiday tapestry and balsam wreaths on site and can be shipped out. The farmstand is decorated each year for Thanksgiving and Christmas and includes the wreaths, fresh breads, pies, lettuces, spinach, potatoes and onions, local dairy and meat.

Open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the months of November and December.





Henderson's Tree and Garden Service - White River Junction, VT

 Open during the holiday season, Wednesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday through Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local trees and wreaths: Boxwood, Cypress, Cedar, Pine, Fraser Fir. Felted ornaments & mittens, garden art poles and many more gift items. They also offer custom decorating and installation services, and wreath decorating workshops.
