Upper Valley Apple & Pumpkin Picking Guide

Fall is here and what is more New England than doing some good old fashion apple and pumpkin picking. Here's your guide to the top spots that are now open in the Upper Valley and beyond.

Apple Picking at Pleasant View Orchards

Pleasant View Orchards in Grafton, NH is open for the season. They have great views of Mt. Cardigan, and surrounding mountains. With the fall the foliage starting to peak it's almost worth is to just walk around their fields. If Apple picking is what you are looking for you have to visit. Open Weekends from 7am-6pm. Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes.

Apple Picking & Cider Tasting at Poverty Lane Orchard

Poverty Lane Orchard is located in Lebanon, NH. It has a large variety of apples to choose from (over 14 kinds) and they also have Apple Cider tastings so bring the whole family down to enjoy. Open weekdays 9am-6pm and weekends 10am-5pm.

 


Apple Picking, Pumpkin Picking & Even a Corn Maze at Riverview Farm

Riverview Farm is located in Plainfield, NH. With plenty of activities to choose from such as apple picking, pumpkin picking, and even a Corn Maze to take an adventure through. They also have Apple cider for purchase as well as, flowers, Squash, Indian corn and plenty of fall decorations. The Corn maze is made by Gary Hamel who's a local artist who has been featured in museums and galleries throughout the country. He's created scarecrows throughout that tell a story as you navigate the maze. It is meant to be amusing with a combination of whimsy, puns and corny jokes! The Maze is open daily.


Apple Picking at Cardigan Mountain Orchard

Cardigan Mountain Orchard offers 15 plus varieties of apples to pick from. The original trees at the Orchard were planted in the 1930's and are still producing loads of apples. They've planted more trees through the years and now have grown the orchard to around 1000 trees, many of which are open to those who'd like to pick-their-own. This farm is open till October 31st.

Windy Ridge Orchard is located in North Haverhill, NH. It has plenty of Apples to choose from with their "pick their own" method. They also have a cider house which is perfect for after your adventures in the fields. Equipped with a menu serving breakfast, lunch and of course donuts all day. The Cider House Cafe uses the freshest local products including; Windy Ridge fruit, homegrown vegetables, Hatchland Milk, Angela’s Homemade Bread, Pete and Gerry’s Eggs, and Mom’s Apple Butter. Specialty pancakes, french toast, home fried potatoes, breakfast burrito, chocolate chip cookies, apple crisp, blueberry crumble, maple mayo, and more are made from scratch using their own recipes. Check the website for hours as they change daily.
