More than 30 Local Breweries Participating in the 13th Annual New England Brewfest

Jun 20, 2017 01:54PM ● By Linda Ditch
If craft beer is your passion, this weekend is for you! The 13th annual
New England Brewfest will take place Friday, June 23 through Sunday, June 25 in New Hampshire’s White Mountains.

More than 30 New England breweries will participate, bringing not only their most popular brews but also new ones for you to try. There will also be workshops and social events where you can learn more about making craft beer with other aficionados as well as industry professionals.

Friday features two dinner events. One is a two-hour ride on the Café Lafayette Dinner Train. You will start with a station-side reception in North Woodstock, New Hampshire at 5pm. Once the train gets moving at 6pm, the chef will serve a dinner of locally sourced dishes, all paired with a craft beer. Your ticket includes the train ride and all the food and beer pairings. The cost is $75 per person.

Also on Friday is One Love Brewery’s beer pairing dinner from 6 to 8pm in Lincoln. You’ll enjoy a series of stationed pairings featuring the brewery’s beer-centric menu. Tickets are $65 per person and include all the food and beer pairings. There will be a cocktail hour at 6pm with dinner at 7pm.

On Saturday, there will be seminars at the Mountain Club on Loon Mountain from 10am to 1pm. You’ll have opportunities to learn about the latest beer trends, ask the experts your questions, and taste a few samples. The first session highlights the new brewing program offered by the University of New Hampshire. You’ll also hear from a brewer about his experience making craft beers and how he selects the perfect ingredients. The second session will address the most common questions about beer, with experts ready to answer all your questions. Tickets are $45 and include the presentations, a light lunch, and all beer samples.

The main event is Saturday night’s ON TAP at the New England Brewfest. Your $40 general admission ticket gets you an official tasting glass and the chance to sample more than 100 beers from approximately 30 breweries. You’ll also enjoy live entertainment, and free parking comes with your ticket. The event is held outdoors, rain or shine, so dress appropriately and bring a folding chair or blanket to sit on. You’ll also need your ID and some extra cash for food and souvenirs.

Round out your weekend on Sunday with the Brewers Brunch at the Mountain Club from 9:30 to 11am. You’ll have another chance to interact with brewers and sample some beers. Tickets are $35 and include the presentation, meal, and beer samples. For those looking to spend Sunday in a more spiritual way, the Loon Mountain Ministry is hosting a Believing Brewers service at the summit amphitheater at 11am. The focus will be on the connections between beer, history, and religion. The gondola departs at 10am, rain or shine. A reduced-rate $8 gondola ticket is available at Loon Mountain Sports until 10:30am. Just ask for the “church ticket.”
