Woodstock Wraps Up October with Spooky Fun

Oct 27, 2017 01:48PM ● By Linda Ditch
As October reaches its traditional spooky finale, here are a few activities you may not want to miss. They’re happening this weekend!

  • A Family Halloween at Billings Farm & Museum: Children in costume get free admission to the museum on Sunday, October 29 from 10am to 5pm. The fun includes pumpkin carving, donuts on a string, wagon rides, and making pumpkin ice cream. Everyone can listen to some slightly scary stories and play pumpkin games. At noon, a costume parade will be held around the farm, with all children getting a ribbon. For a complete schedule of the day’s fun, go to billingsfarm.org/event/a-family-halloween/.
  • Have fun this weekend at Halloween at Artisans Park (71 Artisans Way, Windsor), sponsored by the Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company Market and SILO Distillery on Friday, October 27, and Saturday, October 28. The evening’s activities go from 5 to 9pm and include a Haunted Maze in the Path of Life Garden, plus trick-or-treating, festive drinks, and themed treats.
  • Have fun and help raise funds for the Pittsford Fire Department at their 37th annual haunted house this Friday and Saturday. A creepy wagon ride takes you to the haunted house, and music will be provided by the Bones Brothers Band. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. (This event will be too scary for very young children.) The hair-raising fun is located 10 miles north of Rutland on Route 7. Follow the signs. Call (802) 236-0048 for information.
  • The Woodstock Area Mountain Bike Association is getting into the holiday spirit with their 2nd annual Halloween Event known as “WAMBAWEEN” on Sunday. Rides for all levels will take place at the Woodstock Aqueduct Trails at 2pm, followed by a costume competition, potluck, and chili cook-off. RSVP to [email protected]
