Christmas Market With a Difference
Alternative Holiday Market
Celebrating it’s 30th year, Christmas Market With a Difference offers handcrafts and goods from over twenty nonprofit fair trade and charitable organizations around the country and around the world. The "difference" between this and other holiday markets is that 100% of the proceeds are returned directly to organizations helping people in need worldwide. Shop for apparel, accessories, jewelry, home decor, textiles, table linens, baskets, children's clothing and toys, holiday ornaments and decorations, greeting and note cards, bath and body products, specialty foods, and much more. Your purchases support organizations including artisans' cooperatives, fair-trade groups, schools, orphanages, job training and life skills programs, as well as environmental conservation and sustainability initiatives— from right here in the Upper Valley to as far away as Nepal and Zimbabwe.
And if all that shopping makes you hungry, delicious soups and baked goods are available for sale in the Christmas Market Café.
Market hours are Thursday and Friday, Nov. 2 & 3, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm; and Saturday, Nov. 4, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Free parking on College St. in front of Dartmouth Hall, and in the Thompson Arena parking lot (entrance on the corner of Park St. and Summer St.), with shuttle service running directly between the Thompson Lot and the church. Please place a sign on your dashboard that says “CCDC Christmas Market” if you park in the Thompson Lot. On Saturday, the Dewey Lot near the Geisel School of Medicine, and the Maynard Lot on Maynard St. also will be available for parking.
