2020 List of Holiday Light Displays from All Over the Upper Valley

With many holiday in-person events being canceled this year, taking a drive to seeing holiday displays are taking center stage. Grab the family, put the Christmas tunes on, and hit the road to see some fun holiday displays. We've made a list of different neighborhoods to check out on your drive. Oh, and don't forget the hot cocoa travel mug.


Mitchell's Magic Christmas is a combination of high tech and traditional holiday display with 50,000 lights. The front yard display is all computer-controlled and synchronized to music with shows starting every quarter-hour. The side and back yards are a magical journey to The North Pole and a trip through many favorite TV holiday shows. Guest are invited to walk through the display to see everything. Located at 16 Francis St. in Claremont, NH.

Take a walk down Main street to check out the charming town of Woodstock, VT all lit up with sparkly lights. Take a  look at some of the businesses that went all out with festive window displays to bring that holiday cheer. Swing by The Woodstock Inn & Resort to sit by the fire and relax with a hot toddy while you're at it.  

Starting December 5th and running through the 26th Hanover, NH  is having a 'Celebration of Lights.' See lights, holiday decor & cheer throughout downtown Hanover. Tour & vote for your favorite holiday tree located throughout downtown. Maps available in front of Town Hall. Free Parking Weekends Dec 5-26 Enjoy Curbside Treats in Holiday Huts.


Gift of Lights Drive-through experience at The New Hampshire Motor Speedway: A 2.5-mile drive-thru light show is even brighter with 3.5 million lights, a new 150-foot RGB Tunnel of Lights, and new scenes including the Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks, Mother Goose, Jack Be Nimble, Deer Beach Vacation, and a package wrapping machine. Admission is $25 per car or bus (up to 15 people). Buses containing more than 15 people will also be charged an additional $2 per person for anyone over the 15 allowed. A portion of all per carload admission proceeds will benefit Speedway Children's Charities, New Hampshire Chapter. Vermont Holiday Festival At Killington Ski Resort on December 4th will be hosting an extraordinary holiday-themed family-friendly light show to be seen and heard from the comfort of your own car! Dazzling, larger-than-life holiday-themed displays will be featured to delight the entire family! Visitors are welcome to bundle up in their car, pack a favorite snack or beverage and tune their radio to enjoy the synced light performance that will be projected on Snowshed Base Lodge. Christmas Light Display at The Shrine of Our Lady-La Salette in Enfield is open from Thanksgiving to January 3rd, 202. Hours of operation are weekly from Wednesday - Sunday 5 pm- 9 pm. Located at 401NH Route 4A Enfield, NH 03748.

New London Gazebo Tree Lighting - Sunday, December 6th at 3:45 pm for those who are comfortable joining us by the gazebo (please wear your mask) we will sing a few carols with Kathy Lowe & her caroling singers and the tree will be lit at 4:00 pm. For those wanting to watch from home, we will be on FB live as well so you can join in virtually as well!

The Family Place 18th Annual Gingerbread Festival Featuring LIVE and VIRTUAL Activities Celebrate the Holiday Season & Support The Family Place. To keep everyone safe this year, our annual festival will happen over several weeks. View the delicious-looking creations made by local artisans and families in windows or other visible places in businesses and organizations in the Upper Valley. Gingerbread houses will be on display in Norwich and White River Junction in Vermont; Hanover, Lebanon, and West Lebanon in NH.

Santa Claus is Coming to Sunapee on December 12th from 1 to 3 pm - drive-by visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus! All visitors must stay in their cars for the visit. Each child will be given a gift bag. To RSVP please head to ProjectSunapee.org

Twas the Night Before Christmas in Newport on December 12th from 1 to 4 pm - a drive-thru event - children and their families will drive through the North Pole Express and each child will get a gift bag. WCNL will be playing Christmas music during the drive! There will be opportunities for socially distant photos with Santa!
