As the country opens back up this summer, crowded public venues can still cause anxiety for many Upper Valley residents. Food trucks provide the perfect alternative, as they allow patrons to socialize safely and enjoy outdoor dining at a distance. Ease back into public dining this summer with these 6 food trucks located throughout the Upper Valley.

The Box Food Truck, Hanover, NH

Founded by Tuck graduates in 2014, The Box aims to improve the quality of life for Dartmouth students, promote interaction between undergraduates and the Tuck School of Business, and to fulfill a community need for late-night eats. Recently, The Box has transitioned to a catering and delivery-based service model, serving larger local parties and events. Their menu hasn't changed, however; they still provide a wide array of delicious Mexican options, including crispy rolled tacos, carne asada, and Tostada de Langosta, corn tostadas topped with lobster and chipotle crema. They even provide a vegan option: an avocado, Pino, sweet corn, and rice bowl. You can place orders for delivery or catering at 941-224-9769, check out their website here, or email at [email protected].

Chef Brad's CrazySide, Quechee, VT

Operated out of a repurposed school bus, Chef Brad's is a Quechee staple, and the yelp reviews back it up, with customers calling the food "outstanding," and leaving five-star ratings almost across the board. Delicious food, great ambiance, and a casual atmosphere are the name of the game. The fish and chips seem to be the fan-favorite, but Chef Brad's also offers a wide variety of options, from burgers to pulled pork barbeque sandwiches, tacos, crab cakes, falafel salad, and cupcakes for dessert. They also serve beer and wine. You can check their website for updates or call them at 802-295-6400.

Boisvert's Curbside Kitchen, Lebanon, NH

Seafood is the specialty at Boisvert's Curbside Kitchen. They serve lobster roll, scallops, oysters, and "everything fried," and their Facebook page reveals that they sell out regularly. Hand-cut french fries and burgers complete the menu so that, according to their website, "there's options for everyone and disappointment for none." And everything is, of course, freshly cooked. One reviewer even ordered, "the best haddock sandwich I've had in 47 years." You can find Boisvert's at 263 Dartmouth College Hwy, Lebanon, or call them at (603) 443-3905. The truck closes on the weekends, but they operate from 11 am-7 pm on weekdays.

Wicked Awesome BBQ, White River Junction, VT

Wicked Awesome BBQ operates out of a restaurant location at 93 Beswick Drive, White River Junction. However, their food truck, founded in 2013, still brings delicious barbecue to happy customers across the Upper Valley. They offer a wide selection of all things barbecued, including ribs and wings, as well as deep-fried pickles, jalapeño poppers, nachos, and pretzel bites, and fries. Their steak tips, pulled pork, brisket, and pulled chicken, complete the menu, along with a selection of salads for those interested in healthier options. They also make a delicious clam chowder. You can visit their website to find out more about Wicked Awesome BBQ restaurant and food truck here or to request catering services for anything from weddings to graduations. Call (802) 698-8059 or email Chef David at [email protected]

Taco's Taco, Lebanon, NH

Another Lebanon-based food truck, Taco's Taco, serves Latin American cuisine five days a week from 11 am-3 pm. One reviewer credited them with "the only authentic tacos in the upper valley," and they offer everything from ground beef, roasted chicken, and pulled pork to vegan options like black bean and even fiddlehead tacos. All tacos are served with pickled red onions and cucumber pico, and all their corn tortillas are homemade. The simple menu means that everything is prepared with attention and care. Another reviewer called these tacos "a labor of love." This little green food truck is a local favorite. Call them at (603) 727-9327, find them near the Lebanon Green, and check out their Facebook for more updates.
