The esteemed Boston Civic Symphony, now in its 94th year, will return for the seventh time to New London. Francisco Noya is the orchestra’s new and very dynamic musical director. Francisco is a native of Venezuela and is a prominent figure in the Boston and New England music scene where he has earned a reputation as a versatile interpreter of symphonic and operatic literature. The program will include the Grieg Piano Concerto in A Minor featuring Andrew Li, piano soloist; selections from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet; and Brubeck’s Concerto for Bass Trombone and Orchestra, Chris Brubeck, soloist. Yes, Chris is the son of Dave Brubeck, the world-renowned jazz pianist and composer, and Chris lives up to his legacy with ease.
