NCCT Prsents 42nd Street
42nd Street, a big, bold musical set in 1933, celebrates the stuff dreams are made of. When Broadway hopeful Peggy Sawyer is cast in the chorus of producer Julian Marsh’s latest hit, she hardly expects to play the lead. But when leading lady Dorothy Brock breaks her ankle, Peggy has 36 hours to learn the role. As Julian says, by the next evening, he’ll have either a live leading lady or a dead chorus girl! Join 64 Upper Valley teens as they perform memorable songs including “You’re Getting to Be a Habit With Me,” “Dames,” “I Know Now,” “We’re In the Money,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” “Shuffle Off to Buffalo,” and “Forty-Second Street.” Every audience enjoys watching the underdog succeed! Directed by Joe Guarino, with choreography by Susan Lamontagne, and music direction by Jane Woods
